Cooking time: 30 mins
Ingredients:
- 1.5 cups of Basmathi Rice,
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 3-4 Red chillies
- 1 tsp Tamcon(tamarind extract),
- 3 tbsp Fresh Coconut,
- small piece of Jaggery or 1 tsp sugar,
- 1tsp Chana Dhal,
- 1tsp Urad Dhal,
- 2 tbsp of Peanuts,
- 3-4 tbsp of oil,
- 0.5 tsp Mustard for tempering,
- 2 dry Red Chillies (adjust to taste),
- 0.5 tsp Haldi,
- pinch of Asafoetida,
- Salt to taste.
- Cook rice in the rice cooker and cool it,
- Each grain of rice should be separate, should not be mushy,
- Grind dry red chillies, coconut,tamarind, 1 tsp mustard and jaggery / sugar into a smooth paste.
- In a nonstick pan, heat oil and add mustard, chana dhal. urad dhal, peanuts and asafoetida,
- Fry until it turns golden,
- Add red chillies and curry leaves fry for a few seconds,
- Add Haldi,
- Add the ground paste and fry for 2-3 minutes,
- Add the cooked rice and mix well,
- Add salt to taste.
- Mix thoroughly and switch of the heat.
- This will be medium hot.
- People who want it spicy add chillies to taste.
