Hayagriva



Preparation time: 15mins
Cooking time: 15mins
                                                                                 







Ingredients: 

  • 150g Channa dhal 
  • 200g Jaggery / Brown Sugar
  • 2 tsp Roasted Poppy Seeds 
  • 75g Grated Coconut 
  • 3 tbsp Ghee
  • Pinch of Saffron 
  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom Powder
                                                                               
Preparation Method:
  1. In a non-stick pan roast the channa dhal, then place in a pressure cooker. Strain the contents after it is done.
  2. Melt the Jaggery with a little water in a heavy bottomed pan. Once melted, add the strained channa dhal, fried poppy seeds, grated coconut, cardamom powder, saffron and 2 tsp of ghee.
  3. Cook it all at medium heat.
  4. Add roasted almonds and sun-dried raisins for taste
