- 1 cup Urad dhal
- 2-5 cups idli rava
- salt to taste
- Soak Urad dhal in water for minimum 4 hours or over night.
- In a vessel pour the idli rava and sprinkle some warm water,
- Grind the urad dhal and add it to the idli rava,
- Add salt and mix well.
- Leave it for 10-12 hours until it ferments and the mixture doubles in volume.
- In a cooker boil the water,
- Pour the idli batter into the idli moulds,
- Steam it for 10 -12 minutes.
- Serve hot with sambar and chutney.
